Dutch designers and brands will exhibit their work again this year at interior-products trade fair 100% Design Tokyo, held from 30 October through 3 November. Premsela is organising a group exhibition on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Agency for International Business and Cooperation.
A dozen Dutch designers and brands' collections will be seen by international manufacturers, distributors, journalists and others at the fair. Exhibiting is an excellent way for designers to profile themselves on the Japanese market. An accompanying matchmaking programme will pair participating designers with potential customers.
The Agency for International Business and Cooperation will provide most financing. Participants will pay for their own travel and accommodation, space on the exhibition stand (ca. €300/m2), transport of their products, and an interpreter if needed. All self-producing Dutch furniture and household-accessory designers, design firms and brands were invited to register.

After two successful editions, Premsela is organising its third group exhibition at 100% Design Tokyo. The exhibition, Created in Holland, will command 100m2 of space. Premsela, the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Convention, the Association of Dutch Designers and the Dutch Embassy in Tokyo are co-organising a matchmaking programme and additional PR in the form of a website, a brochure and a promotional campaign.
Premsela’s goals for Created in Holland are threefold. With this exhibition, Premsela aims to increase the market for Dutch design, and exports to Asia in particular. It seeks to position the Netherlands abroad as a crucible for unique, progressive design where talent flourishes and fascinating collaborations can develop. Finally, we hope to encourage Japanese tourists and businesspeople to come to the Netherlands to experience Dutch culture.

100% Design Tokyo, founded in 2005, is Japan’s largest international commercial trade fair for contemporary design. In 2007, it drew 85,298 visitors. The fair is part of
Tokyo Designers Week, Japan’s biggest design event, which saw its 23rd edition in 2008. Each year, numerous Dutch presentations can be seen all over the city. Premsela believes it is important to make all Dutch designers exhibiting in Tokyo visible for the local public and the press.
