The first Design Forum outside Europe took place at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT on 3 2009 during Tokyo Designers Week.
Addressing the central question of whether we take design at face value, the designers talked about design’s meaning in a global context and in the contexts of history and contemporary culture. Design.nl's Jeanne Tan interviewed them on stage and moderated a question-and-answer session with the audience and specially invited Dutch and Japanese designers.
The Design Forum has already become a fixture of Milan design week during its short life. With the Design Forums, Premsela opens dialogue with an international design audience and engages in active, current discussions with designers from different cultures.
