Jewellery Unleashed!
High-profile international experts shared their views on contemporary jewellery design at the Jewellery Unleashed! symposium in February 2012. Premsela cohosted the event with the Museum of Modern Art Arnhem and ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in conjunction with the museum’s jewellery exhibition Unleashed!. Read more

Designed Realities
Professor Timo de Rijk talked to the film production designer Carol Spier in an onstage interview in Rotterdam in January 2012. They spoke about Spier’s work, the relationship between design and the everyday environment, and how we experience the world designers create for us in film and in reality. Read more

Masters of Amateurism
In this events series, Premsela invited a international assortment of authors, scholars and designers to give public presentations on their work in light of aspects of amateurism, such as DIY, Web 2.0, bricolage and street fashion. Read more

The Milan Breakfasts 2011
Premsela and the Design Academy Eindhoven invited the public to share coffee, croissants and quality conversations on design at the Milan Breakfasts, held during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile at Studio Zeta Milano in the Italian city. Read more

A Fashion Odyssey
Participants in the symposium A Fashion Odyssey discussed how designers could contribute to a more sustainable world and its new kind of fashion. Held in June 2011 at Luxor Live in Arnhem, the symposium was a joint project of the dAcapo supplementary events programme and the fashion design professorship at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Control Union, and the Arnhem Mode Biennale. Coin on a Mission

Bruno Ninaber van Eyben, designer of the last series of Dutch guilder coins and the Dutch side of the euro coin, gave a talk in Utrecht in January 2012 in conjunction with the exhibition Coin on a Mission. Premsela cohosted the event with the Centraal Museum Utrecht. Read more

Guerilla Gardening
In August 2011, Premsela showed Lowlands festivalgoers how to make seed bombs, garden without land and make natural remedies for festival-related ailments. Premsela carried out its activities at the festival, held in Biddinghuizen, from a special edible installation made of plants. Read more

CTRL-ALT-Design
Premsela took part in  Barcelona’s Design History Society’s annual conference in September 2011. This edition of the conference probed the history and development of design activism. Read more

Design It Yourself...
The designer, writer and lecturer Ellen Lupton and members of the Autobahn agency talked about the latest developments in graphic design at this event in September 2011. Read more

Book Cover Contest
Liz Klaver, a student at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, won the 2010 edition of Premsela’s book cover design contest, organised in collaboration with Stichting CPNB and Stichting De Best Verzorgde Boeken. Read more

New Year's Symposium
At Premsela’s 2010 New Year gathering, new director Els van der Plas introduced herself, and Premsela and Paul van Liempt of the radio station BNR spoke with the Lloyd Hotel’s Suzanne Oxenaar, the Sandberg Institute’s Jurgen Bey and TenCate’s Dick Hendriks about their strategies for surviving the financial crisis. Save me
What should we save? Participants in the national design, heritage and history conference Save me/Bewaar me in November 2010 attempted to answer that question. The conference, a production of Premsela, the Netherlands Institute for Heritage and the Mondriaan Foundation, took place on the steamship Rotterdam in Rotterdam harbour. Read more
