Confrontations TV
Premsela and the museum operated a TV studio in the gallery during Art Basel. We'll post videos of the performances here (on the right side of this page) and on the museum’s website. Confrontations TV will also produce a daily video report and interview designers and the public.
The exhibition
For the show, five designers from the Netherlands created objects with craftspeople and industrial companies from the region around Weil am Rhein and nearby Basel, Switzerland. Studio Formafantasma worked with the charcoal maker Doris Wicki, Wieki Somers with the chocolatier Confiserie Rafael Mutter, Lucas Maassen with Roche Pharmaceuticals, Dirk Vander Kooij with the car parts manufacturer A. Raymond, and 2012Architecten with Vitra’s own waste and recycling department. The graphic design agency Catalogtree designed the exhibition.

Performances
A performance centred around one of the works – which range from Wieki Somers’s chocolate objects to Lucas Maassen’s DNA-crystal chandelier – took place each day in the gallery from Tuesday 12 through Saturday 16 June, during Art Basel.
Gerrit Rietveld: The Revolution of Space
The Vitra Design Museum is also hosting Gerrit Rietveld: The Revolution of Space, a version of a show previously held at the Centraal Museum Utrecht, through Sunday 16 September.
