Hot Photography

Arjen Went and Manon Navarro of the Tintype Studio, the photography lecturer Flip Bool, and members of the Lomography community shared their views on “hot” photography in a Masters of Amateurism event on Friday 2  December 2011 in Amsterdam. They discussed analogue photography, instant photography, and the recent surge of interest in these “hot” media in our increasingly digital world.

The Tintype Studio has revived the tradition of recording photographic images on metal sheets. With its own retro brand of instant photography, the studio provides visitors with a historical experience in its on-location photo booth. Arjen Went and Manon Navarro introduced the Tintype Studio in Eindhoven during Dutch Design Week. All their current design work deals with photography and visual language in one way or another.

The Lomography community’s members – or Lomographers – inspire and provoke each other with diverse creative analogue ideas for use in experiments, projects, exhibitions and collaborations.

Flip Bool works as a photography lecturer at AKV/St. Joost. His subjects of emphasis include identity and identities.
