Jewellery experts

In February 2011, Premsela welcomed the Belgian gallerist Caroline van Hoek, the UK curator James Beighton, the German design historian Barbara Maas and the Italian professor Alba Cappellieri as our guests in the International Visitors Programme. They came to exchange views on contemporary jewellery design with Dutch colleagues from 13 to 16 February.

The guests attended the art fair Object Rotterdam and met designers including Martine Viergever, Charlotte Wooning, Zelda Beauchampet and BCXSY. Their itinerary also included the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the Sandberg Institute; the galleries Marzee, Ra, Galerie Rob Koudijs and Galerie Louise Smit; and the Philip Sajet exhibition at the CODA museum in Apeldoorn.

The visitors took part in an expert meeting on contemporary issues in jewellery design at Premsela’s offices. With Dutch colleagues, they discussed ways of exhibiting jewellery, collaborations between jewellery makers and other designers and artists, and the changing jewellery design market.
