MAFB
MAFB has been providing makers of music, fashion and design with a stage since 2008 by holding fashion events at unique locations. After four years of MAF Fashion Battles in Almere and Amsterdam, the events will continue under the name City Battles. MAFB will produce the City Battles with partners including Premsela.
About 20 designers take part in each City Battle, which features a master class, a catwalk show and a pop-up store. Premsela and MAFB are holding a series of City Battles master classes on developing collections this year in Amsterdam, Hilversum, Rotterdam and The Hague. Premsela invited Cissy Noordeloos of Studio Sober to lead the first, on creating fashion collections, in May in The Hague.
Two finalists will be chosen in each city, and the City Battles final will take place in January 2013. Premsela will present the winner with a custom coaching programme. More information will be available soon here and on the MAFB website.
MAFB’s other City Battles partners are Stroom Den Haag, Kunsthal Rotterdam, the Amsterdam Museum and various vocational colleges.
