During their stay, Shiiya and Nakano conducted research for the forthcoming Osaka exhibition Hoi! 2, a successor to 2010's Hoi! They visited Dutch Design Week events, museums and design agencies and observed the role of design in Dutch daily life. The first Hoi! focused on architecture, graphic design, food, products and aromas and introduced the Japanese public to Netherlands designers Vincent de Rijk, Armand Mevis, Sander Luske, Thomas Eyck and Maki Ueda. Workshops, readings and bicycle routes through Osaka accompanied the exhibition.
